Dream Bar

Completed: 2000
Client: Fantasy Clubs

This scheme involved the extensive internal and external remodelling of an existing two storey building that housed a bar and function room to create a contemporary bar that acted as a feeder to the adjacent nightclub.

The design included scooping out a large section of the main facade, allowing views into the new double height interior, and the introduction of an external balcony that also defined the entrance to the bar. A timber clad drum defines the separate entrance to the nightclub which is also linked internally to the main bar area.

The scheme provided a marked contrast to the original traditional interior by providing a light and airy space with light timber floors and bright colours.

Key features of the design are the internal sails, the stairs and the dramatic lighting. The lighting design allows a number of programmed mood settings to be created by mixing coloured light together.
